GCMarine is currently engaged in an exciting project aimed at benefiting the local community of Port Augusta. We have been entrusted by CPB Contractors PTY Limited and the Port Wakefield to Port Augusta (PW2PA) Alliance to design, manufacture and install a functional swimming pontoon, linked to Port Augusta’s Eastside Foreshore.
The swimming pontoon, meticulously designed and manufactured by GCMarine, is a community-driven initiative by CPB Contractors PTY Limited, aimed at giving back to the residents of Port Augusta. Although the construction phase is yet to commence, the pontoon has already been manufactured and is eagerly awaiting installation. The project encompasses a fixed jetty, divided into four parts, with a width of 2.6 meters and a total length of 35 meters. Additionally, a 20-meter-long gangway, measuring 1.7 meters in width, will provide easy access to the pontoon. The swimming pontoon comprises two pontoons, each measuring 11 meters by 2.5 meters wide.
Once installed, this swimming pontoon will offer numerous benefits to the local community. Residents will have a safe and designated area for swimming and recreational activities, enhancing the overall usability of the area. The pontoon's spacious layout allows for multiple users, fostering a sense of community engagement. The installation, scheduled for Q3 of 2023, marks an exciting milestone in this community-driven initiative.
GCMarine faced a significant challenge when delivering a project for a Queensland Government agency at Southport's Broadwater Parkland. A public pontoon became unsafe due to structural defects, and GCMarine was awarded the contract to provide an innovative solution. We offered to replace multiple small pontoons with two massive 15 by 6-meter pontoons and reinforce the entire structure by building new concrete construction.
Southport's Broadwater Parkland is a popular place to go, especially on the weekends, so it was important to complete the project timely. It was finished ready for the recent world-renowned Gold Coast Marathon and also school holidays, as a combined effort by all involved.
GCMarine went above and beyond to provide exceptional service to the client and deliver safer and more enjoyable water access for visitors. With our remarkable efforts, we have transformed Southport's Broadwater Parkland pontoon, leaving a lasting legacy of safety and innovation.

The multimillion-dollar, floating beach club vessel 'LaLuna' is officially open and moored at Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast!
The completion of La Luna Beach Club took a massive collaborative effort and we were thankful to partner with a suite of talented businesses including Open Projects Group, Makris Group, House of August and Space Cubed to bring The Genarri Group vision to life.
GCMarine took care of all floating aspects of the Beach Club, sitting atop pontoons centred around two floating chlorinated swimming pools custom engineered, fabricated and installed by our specialists.
The centrepiece pools provided some interesting challenges with a lack of precedent and very fine margins for error. The pools are designed to "levitate" in the water using neutral buoyancy to sit at surrounding pontoon height. Being fully chlorinated, the filter and pump system is connected via neighbouring pontoons.
La Luna Beach Club is guaranteed to be a smash hit this summer so head down to Marina Mirage and experience Australia's first floating beach club first-hand!
We are excited to be partnering with tier-one contractor CPB to design, develop and deliver the Port Augusta Swimming Pontoon as part of larger infrastructure upgrade projects in Regional South Australia.
This pontoon and gangway will become an asset for the Port Augusta City Council and will be open for public use with manufacturing already underway at the GCMarine factory in Coomera.
This project is to be completed by February 2023 and is located on the southern bank of the Spencer Gulf adjacent to the Joy Baluch Bridge in Port Augusta township.
Our signature pontoons are heading to Esperance Western Australia for the construction of a new 56-berth marina at Esperance Bay Yacht Club.
Due to the remote location, we are using our trucking fleet to deliver the pontoons 3880 kilometres to Esperance from Coomera.
Following the safe arrival of our pontoons, we will be assisting Crossview Enterprises with the installation of the new marina.
